Good Folk. Toronto Relief Fund & Initiative
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many who make up our colourful neighbourhoods are struggling to make ends meet and support their basic needs and essentials. We aim to provide as many as possible with financial relief and the knowledge to manage a tight budget.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Let’s protect and support our people with $300 in groceries. Through our instagram page we have organized Toronto Hospitality Professionals to create approachable instructional videos ranging from $10 / day meal plans to cooking techniques - all displaying the versatility of affordable food.
$30K will help us cover 100 humans for a month.
We have chosen to make all of our content open to access by all with the intention to help as many people as possible
We’ll drive the cause with content full of energy and economical solutions and hopefully you can help us provide the funds for essentials to humans in need.
HOW ARE PEOPLE CHOSEN?
Torontonians who have financial challenges with dependants, who haven't been able to access CERB, EI, who haven't received a rent deferral or freeze, who haven't gained enough income to sustain basic needs will be prioritized. We'll be functioning on a process of good-will and faith in our community. Good Folk helping Good Folk.
HOW ARE THE FUNDS MANAGED?
All proceeds will be directed to the recipients and Good Folk will take no profit. GoFundMe charges a 2.9% service fee PLUS a $0.30 service fee per transaction via credit or debit, which Good Folk will personally cover to meet the goal of supporting 100 humans.
Checks and balances will be managed diligently and transparently. We will release funds to individuals in three stages and maintain regular communication. Online support will be available to answer all grocery and recipe related questions.
Let's work together and commit to maintaining the dignity of our colourful city. Donate now. Every bit helps and we hope to make every dollar count.
In solidarity,
Good Folk
