May Somerville won't ever ask for help by herself. I'm her eldest son, Travis Somerville, and I'm determined to make something easier for her.
She has finally decided to receive low-dose chemo treatments, which is a very big step for her. I'm proud of her for taking a step in the right direction, as she has a very aggressive type of breast cancer stage III.
She has a good chance with this treatment and she's going for it. However, these treatments, frankly will add up to quite a bit. Time and money are important right now.
Thus, I would appreciate anything you are willing to chip in. I am no longer afraid to reach out - even though she's not quite there yet. I know she will appreciate anything, just knowing that people reached out to her.
Just as importantly, if you're in her Dripping Springs area, reach out to her, call her on the phone. More than anything she's afraid to "bother" anyone about this. Really, a visit or any morale support you can offer is the better than anything for her right now.
If you've had experience with cancer, feel free to reach out to her. I don't know exactly how this site works - if you can send a note, etc. But this site was recommended officially by the LiveStrong.org counselors that called me - so I do trust it.
