<div>Mike Goldberg walked away from a career in finance and a home in the city to follow his passion for underwater diving. His family ultimately settled in Islamorada, Florida, where he and his wife opened a dive shop. After seeing first-hand the alarming rate at which the area’s coral reefs were dying, in 2019, Goldberg co-founded I.CARE. The nonprofit mobilizes and empowers certified divers to restore coral, not only helping marine life thrive but giving residents the chance to help preserve and protect their ocean environment. To date, the organization has transplanted more than 10,000 corals and educated more than 2,000 people about the importance of the reef.
