Going to bury daddy

Hi all,
It has been a shock forthe past week, but we are getting into the sad reality that my Daddy is now gone. For those who don't know him, he was the most resilient and caring person I've had to know. Very quiet, very humble as I am hearing the stories of the people he helped and never told us about. He was a devoted military man, and and the life long partner of my mom (60 years together, since high school).
He is gone, as quietly as he lived. Since I have been in the States , I was only able to visit twice in 17 yers, and got to meet his grandson for gthe 1st time last year. We said bye, but never thought it was a farewell.
I am leaving this weekend to pay my respects, and support my mom. For those of you not from here, you know what it means to be the one everyone is waiting for back home.
This is an unexpected event in our lives, and I am blessed with a husband moving heaven and earth to send me off decently while keeping the fort down with our 3 year old.
I am going home to hold my mom's head high as her eldest. My dad had many friends, so I am praying with their help, with your help we can send off my daddy as the King I will always remember. Keep him in your prayers, Charles Cesar Diedhiou was his name.
