Going for It!

Donation protected
Hi. My name is Nathan Behr.

Yea, I know... I gulped when my dad came up with this amount. Four thousand four hundred dollars is a LOT of money!

Broken down to what this amount gives me are two personalized basketball training sessions per week for six months (to elevate my basketball skills to the next level) and two personal strength and conditioning sessions per week for six months (for muscle building, speed, and explosiveness).

You may ask, "Why do I need personal sessions?" The truth is that virtually all high school athletes, who are pushing for a college scholarship, have a personal trainer.

$4,400 is for a 6-month training push, which when divided by the month is about $700/month. It's a "totally-going-for-it" plan! : )

If you've looked at my video you read that I had a great experience and good training, playing in tournaments in Utah, Las Vegas and Denver last summer. We played some high-level teams. It was great exposure and pushed me to become better.

However, that was a step and the road to being great – which is my determined goal - is a steep ladder, a tall mountain to climb.

And, just for a little of my basketball history: Last year at this time, at the beginning of the season, I played in games where I only scored 2 or 4 points. But, by the end of the season, I was scoring 20 or more points in a game.

I'm in my junior year now and I'm considered to be the top talent on the team. But I know that is not good enough. There are other leagues, other teams and other players that are much better.

And, I need to get better and better and better still. And I'm determined to put in the effort to do so and I have done so, but I need to do more.

I go to the court daily. When my dad takes me I shoot a couple hundred of three-point shots a night. He has tried his hand supervising me in weightlifting. But he can only do so much. He's not a trainer, after all, he's my dad. A trainer pushes me beyond what I think I can do and I really need that.

So, this amount I’m asking for is for a 6-month intensive training and conditioning push. My parents have spent a lot of money to help me but now they have spent all they can. The only place left for me to go is to ask those who'd like to help me fulfill my dream - to ask you: The very ones who helped me last spring.

And my dream and goal is getting a college scholarship in basketball which will be a great step along the way in helping me get an engineering degree at Montana State University. And I know $4,400 is a lot, but if a number of people contribute something, anything, it will add up. It does add up.

If after watching my video and reading this message you decide to help me out I will say to you, and say to you now: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! - from the bottom (and all the way to the top) of my heart.

Thank you for your kind attention.
Thank you for your help.
