Going to TX to help displaced dogs

Those close to me know my heart breaks for dogs and other animals in need. And in 2005 I was ready to help with our four-legged friends displaced by hurricane Katrina but did not have the time to give then. Today I do. I am a former Animal Control Officer II who left to become a teacher. I have since fostered a dog with special medical needs who recently crossed the bridge, and now I must continue helping. So today I am attempting to raise enough to get me through one week of volunteer work helping with the care of displaced pets and more.  However, to volunteer you must be self-sustaining, meaning we have to provide our own food, water, shelter, and transpiration. So I am asking for your help to male this happen. I will be using the money primarily toward housing and all extra money raised will go to one or both of the organizations, or their needs. The two organizations are Best FriendsSociety and the Austin Pets Alive organization.  It is a bit complicated right now as it seems they are not accustomed to volunteers coming from far for animals. So I am in the works of organizing this all. Thank you so much for your care and  support, and I am very excited to represent you all!
