Extracurricular Programming
Hey everyone!
I am raising money for my high school's extracurricular program and would really appreciate your help!
Who are we? Summit Atlas is a small charter school, located in West Seattle, that serves an extremely diverse, brilliant student body.
Why us? While it is a priority to send all of our students to college; for many of our students, post-secondary education is not a given.
Importance of extra-curricular programming? It is particularly important for our students to have access to opportunities outside of the classroom/given curriculum so that they can begin to cultivate life skills necessary to navigate an increasingly complex world. Such skills include but are not limited to:
1. Fostering a healthy connection to food and learning the basics of meal preparation
2. Learning how to collaborate with peers and delegate tasks/roles
3. Begin to explore the emotional benefits of community and explore topics related to identity
How will the money be used? Funds will be used to start a cooking club (groceries, cooking equipment, food journals, etc.) and to support the growing needs/interests of BSU (Black Student Union), Latin Heritage Club, and Improv Club.
Our gratitude: I know it's a big ask, but the impact you will be making is indisputable. Our students are keenly aware of the lack of resources and funding that we have, and have grown to accept this reality. I would love my students to begin to take pride in our school, and to know that they have the power to create the community that they want to live in.
We appreciate you! Thank you so much for your time and consideration :)
