PLEASE HELP IN THE BATTLE FOR MY LIFE!

Hello Everyone,

My Mom is battling Stage 4 Colon Cancer right now.  Times are very tough for her emotionally and financially right now. There's significant financial burden on her due to cancer treatments, tests, bills, and daily expenses because she cannot work, so there's loss of income. If I can help her in some way and use my Page for a very good cause, then I will do it for her. There's so many wonderful people here, and many of you have becomes friends. I'm asking for your help, so I can lift the financial burden off my Mom.  I truly understand that times are hard for everyone right now during this Pandemic, but if anyone could spare any money regardless of how much, I would greatly appreciate it and so would she. Every little bit does add up and will help my Mom tremendously during this time of her life. Trust me, even if many give only $5 or $10 or $20 each...it does add up quickly, and my Mom can wind up with enough generosity to help her through this time. She's going through enough health-wise right now, especially knowing her prognosis with Stage 4 Colon Cancer is an average of 5 years. She's also trying to enjoy life while she can. It's a highly emotional weight and stressful, and now add all the financial burdens and stress...it's a lot for one to take. I have always protected her, and I need to do that again and help her. Whatever you can do to help will be much appreciated. Thank you for your support, and taking the time to read about my Mom's Cancer battle and fight for her life below.  -Michele

****MY MOM'S STORY FROM HER OWN WORDS****
"I had a colonoscopy on March 29th 2018. After the colonoscopy I was told they found cancer. The next day I went for a CT scan and then was scheduled for surgery in April. During the surgery they removed the tumor and one foot of my colon. Part of the results of the CT scan was that there was a spot on my lung and I was scheduled for a biopsy which revealed the nodule was cancerous. This put me into Stage 4 Cancer.
I started chemo May 16th 2018 . I was going every other week...once a week and I'd be there almost the entire day. After that treatment which was completed in November... My doctor switched me to another plan of 6 weeks straight...once a week and 2 weeks off. I'm still on this regime as of today.
I had radiation due to the cancer nodule in my lung. Recently a clot was found during an MRI and I'm on blood thinners.  A previous cat scan showed something on kidney which he believed to be a cyst, but the doctor said for peace of mind to go get an MRI. The MRI picked up the clot. Doctor got results that day and directed me to go to the emergency room because it could be fatal. I was admitted to the hospital...put on iv blood thinners and was given a script for blood thinners that I need to take daily for rest of my life.
At one point I was very low in iron and had to receive infusions. Low  on vitamin D and I have a  potassium deficiency. I'm given prescriptions for both.
I went for radiation for the nodule on the lung. Doctor wasn't keen on surgery as he was fearful the long would collapse. I had to stop a certain medication after 9 treatments that gave me Neuropathy. If I drank anything cold it was like shards of razor blades in my throat. I was very sensitive to cold, and couldn't touch or drink anything cold. I could feel numbness and tingling in both of my hands and my feet. My hands have gotten a little better, but I still feel the sensation in my feet.
I have regular scans every 3 months to monitor this disease to check progression of cancer. Doctor said there's no cure. Only treatable.
Exhaustion prevents me from doing many things and when I push myself...i pay for it by being even more exhausted. Every day is precious to me.
I was a substitute teacher working regularly- which I very much enjoyed and loved working with children. When I found out I had cancer, I had to cancel my upcoming jobs and have not worked since March of 2018. There's no way I can work in my condition.
My husband is taking 'Fmla' in order to take me for my chemo treatments, doctor visits, and scans.
There's Loss of income affecting my household due to me not working. Also the cost of travel expenses to Cancer Center which is over an hour drive from us- but worth it because that Cancer Center is highly renowned and I trust the Drs there with my care. Also my Medical expenses and  prescriptions are not covered by insurance which are expensive.
I am asking for your help to cover the costs of hospital stays, treatments, prescriptions, travel expenses, tests, and medical bills we incur.  We also need help with normal daily house bills and living expenses since I'm out of work and only relying on my Husband's pay.  Your support means the world to me right now during this stressful and emotional time.
Thank you for reading my story. Everyone who donates to help me should know what their money is going for and how it will help. I greatly appreciate any generosity you can afford.
Sincerely, Michele Jones"
