The only Masjid in Snellville located between 18 churches needs a permanent building to help continue serving the Muslim community here. Help us build it today.

The Last words of a departing soul, O my Lord if you only delay me for a brief time so I would give charity and be from the Righteous ones! (Quran- Surah Taghabun 64)

Darul Huda Masjid was founded to facilitate the religious needs of the small Muslim community in Snellville, GA.

In 2005, Darul Huda Masjid was incorporated as a nonprofit 501©(3) religious corporation dedicated to providing religious, educational, and social services to the Muslims.

The Muslim population around Snellville, GA has been steadily growing over the past 10 years from a few families into a diverse Muslim community of close to 500 families. We hope Insha Allah it will continue to grow in the future. The current building has become too small to hold congregational prayers. The expansion of the current building based on county laws and regulations will be expensive and won’t serve the needs of the community in the long run. Our community has decided to build a new Masjid building from the ground up in order to meet the current and future religious needs of the growing Muslim community in Snellville and surrounding areas.

After more than 15 years of continuous efforts, Alhamdulillah we have paid off our lot and obtained approval to submit plans to build a Masjid.

WHO ARE WE?

One of the founders of this Masjid moved to Snellville in 2000.  Living in America, he wanted to create an environment where he and his family and the people around him could get closer to Islam and stay on this path. He drove with his 7-year-old son to a Masjid located 10 miles away from his home every day. He did this for four years; however, he was aware that a lot of the Muslims in Snellville was unable to manage to go that far.

His desire to help the community and also to provide a platform for the neighboring churches in his city to have an interfaith connection encouraged him and his friend to rent out a garage in 2004 where they started leading prayers.

They invited the Muslims in the neighborhood to join them for Salah. Gradually the number of people started growing and they moved into an office suite that could accommodate 25 people at max. However, with the growing numbers, they realized that they needed a bigger place and Alhumdolillah was able to establish the current Masjid.

WHAT DOES OUR MASJID DO?

Our Masjid provides a friendly welcoming environment to not just the Muslims but also to the Non-Muslim community as well.

Our Masjid has established:

 Five times Salat.
Taraweeh and community iftar and dinner in Ramadan.
Youth programs to keep our young generation attached to the House of Allah.
Hifz program.
Sunday school attended by 60 students.
Evening Maktab in which students learn more about Islam and study the Quran.
Interfaith programs with the neighboring churches which are increasing their understanding of our deen and not what they hear from somewhere else.
Relationship counseling.
 Nikkah ceremonies.
Helping out our brothers and sisters in need of financial assistance.
Providing an environment for the Muslim community in America a place to form long-lasting friendships and support system.
If any of you happens to visit Snellville, Georgia we would be more than happy to host you.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

We need $950,000 to get at least the first floor of the building to be completed. We have currently applied for our permit in Gwinnett County and are hoping that it will come in very soon Insha Allah. However, once the approval is met, we only have 1 year to form a building before the permit expires.

We need funds to get this started so that there is no further delay. Our community has waited since 2012 for this day.... help us fulfill their dream!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We understand that many masjids around the country are in tight situations and are in need of everything from maintenance to rent to keep the doors open. Insha'Allah Ta'ala this will be a masjid that will be owned by the Muslim community and will serve families for decades to come. Below is some way you can help Insha'Allah. If you can only do one of these we are grateful and ask Allah to bless you, but if you can do more, surely Allah will bless you for your intention and sincerity:

Donate - Support generously and ask three friends to donate as well.

Share - Spread this campaign on social media and ask friends to share and write one word or phrase of what their masjid has meant to them.

Fundraise - Consider doing a small fundraiser for us. Contact us for more details. You could raise $500, $1000, or more among your personal network and send it our way. You will receive blessings from Allah for the effort and for everyone who gives and then for the ibadat done at the masjid.

Prayer of the believer - Say a dua on behalf of our community and ask Allah to make a way for us and to bless the people in this community with strong faith and a place to go and worship Him.

Reach out - If anyone can offer any other help, we would love to hear from our brothers and sister around the country and the world!
