Sudden Tragic Loss of a Son & Memorial

Donation protected
When a member of a community loses a child people want to help, but many times we do not know what to do.

This is when we need to do what we can and offer support to contribute to helping them as they grieve knowing they are being held up. Parkers and friends we are made of kindness and resources.

On July 18th after seeking medical treatment in Ontario, with hope that he could be diagnosed and treated after numerous attempts to get to the bottom of his symptoms in Quebec, Alex Lacireno died suddenly.

Alex was suffering from pneumonia and was having major stomach pain. In a very short amount of time, the medical team in Ontario believed he developed sepsis, an infection in his blood due to the uncured pneumonia damaging his heart and making it too late to be treated.

This seems unimaginable, but the reality of our medical systems and the vulnerability of pneumonia is very compromising.

Knowing that timing was everything and the family was desperately seeking answers to Alex's symptoms that were not recognized has impacted so many people's lives forever, and nothing will ever be as it was intended.

We will never know what would have been through, and for Alex, but we can be certain that coming from the loving giving family he was born in to, that he too would have continued to be an impressionable and well intended member of our community.

Alex was a loving sweet brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.  His passion for hockey and many years of playing had his teammates and coaches also connecting and seeing the special something he had  and shared with others.

As the  Lacireno  Filippelli family deals with all the real life stuff in taking care of Alex's arrangements and the necessary funds required, community members wanted to find a way to support Bianca and Mark.

By  joining together and each giving what we can to decrease financial  burdens the family will be able to focus on one another.

Parkers and friends of the Park let's join together by giving a little bit to help the family say goodbye to Alex surrounded in our love and support, as the tight knit community we are.

Any funds exceeding the cost bared due to the loss of Alex will go towards a hockey scholarship in his name.  Alex was a passionate hockey player, and so loved the sport.

We will keep his name alive through this legacy. Alex always said "hockey is life",  your donations will be a way to keep his name on our lips and his ways in our hearts as we build the Alex Lacireno Hockey Scholarship.

Thank you for your donations to this campaign to support Alex's family and set up a Memorial Scholarship Fund in his name and help in the costs incurred to lay him to rest.

One love, one community. GPK all the way!

Please share on social media once you have donated.

If you want to help in another way please get in touch with me, Brenda Norman, or with his family.

All funds will be given directly to the family. Thank you - Merci.
