The #1905 Trafalgar Challenge is your chance to be a home hero and raise funds from your living room, garden, or bedroom!
Trafalgar was founded in 1905 – so on 19th May (19/05) we’re launching the first annual Trafalgar Challenge. We’re calling on pupils to pick a challenge and get sponsored. You have until Friday 5th June - 3 weeks to complete your challenge .
There are no rules – apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. The main thing is to get active, have fun and pledge £19.05 (or whatever you can) to help raise money for Trafalgar Schools.
Each year £18,000 is donated to the school from the PTA and pays for vital resources for the children: Bug club, Abacus, Mathletics, Spelling Shed as well as hundreds of home reading scheme books and maths games for infants. We pay for theatre companies and authors to visit the school, subsidise trips and update and enhance their play equipment, outdoor areas and libraries.
This year, without the Spring party, Summer fair and other events we will lose over £10,000 of fundraising income. So if you can, please get involved and donate to help maintain this much needed support for the school.
STEP 1: Pick your challenge.
By yourself: Walk or run 19.5 miles, juggle for 19 minutes, or learn to count to 19 in a new language
With your family: Compete to see who can do the most skips or build the tallest Lego tower in 19.05 seconds, have a 19.5m three legged race or try a sponsored silence for 19.05 minutes?
With your friends: Set a quiz for your friends of 19 questions, perform 19.05 minutes of your favourite musical together by video or host a virtual tea party for 19 friends
STEP 2: Ask your friends and family to sponsor you and send them a link to this page - see if you can raise £19.05
STEP 3: Pass on the challenge! Tell your classmates how you got on, then challenge your friends and your teacher to take on their own 1905 challenge
