Go! Fund Gloria!

Greetings!

Thank you for clicking and reading. I am sharing this campaign on behalf of my dear electric comrad Gloria, please read her story below.

Gloria Swain is a senior black woman artist living and practicing in Toronto. She is also a mother, a grandmother and community advocate. She contributes to the worlds of art and activism and is an uplifting voice for other black female-identified artists.

She uses her craft as a form of activism, starting an essential conversation about the intersection of race and mental health. Much of her work focuses on her own experiences as a Black woman navigating mental health care systems.

Right now, Gloria is in need of some help and support from within and beyond the communities she has enlivened with her presence. (so please share, boost, retweet!)

Gloria is in URGENT need of financial support so that she can pay her February rent and cover first and last to move in the near future.
Ms. Swain graduated from York University in 2017 but has since struggled to find work, in part she suspects, to her age. Gloria had been receiving income support from ODSP but to due to an error, her monthly benefits have been reduced and she is no longer able to afford her current home.

Your donation will go towards rent and moving expenses that Gloria needs immediately.

Please donate if you can, every little bit counts.

Share Gloria’s story and help this great artist and activist survive and stay housed with dignity and respect.

with gratitude,
