Stand Against the Drug Epidemic!

62,000 people passed away in 2016 from drug overdoses and one of those people was my brother, Anthony. To put this into perspective, 60,000 Americans died in the Vietnam War over 20 years! Drug overdosing is a crisis, an epidemic that is destroying families across the country and we must do something about it now.

Addiction does not target any particular group or discriminate by class or race. It's the silent killer that has been kept in the dark for too long. People struggling with addiction live with the physical and mental effects of this disease while their loved ones suffer from afar thinking they're unable to help.

I’m Jen LaRocco and along with Joe Passiglia an amazing human and recovering heroin addict himself, who has also lost someone very close to him, we brought Start Chirping, inc. a 501(c)3 not for profit to life to give back life to those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction through improving recovery. We live on Long Island where the drug epidemic is ravaging families and we want to help.

All funds raised will be used to improve both the physical conditions and human connections of sober living in recovery homes.   A positive experience in a recovery home during the days of sobriety outside of a rehab center is so critical to the success of staying sober.  Funds will be used specifically for things such as increasing quality of food, fitness classes, planting gardens, field trips, carpeting floors, handicap accessibility, drug screening tests, proper feminine products and provide other every day luxuries that we take for granted.  We all start somewhere and GoFundMe is our somewhere.
