Fangman Family Medical Recovery

Donation protected

My daughter in law, Lindsey Fangman and her family are in need of support to help with medical and living expenses after having her second spinal fusion surgery in just three months.

Lindsey is a mother, a wife  a middle school            science teacher and cheer coach in Nobel             Oklahoma who was in a car accident in March   while moving from Washington State to Oklahoma.

The car accident not only totaled the family          vehicle and RV, but also caused considerable.      damage to Lindsey’s neck.  After months of pain and neurological side effects from having a disc   in her neck compress her spinal column, she had her C4-5 vertebrae fused on August 27th, 2019.

Everything went well with the surgery and she    seemed to be healing well until something             unexpected happened that set her back and had her pain come back with a vengeance.  Four         weeks after her surgery she was preparing to       leave a football game with her cheer squad when one of the girls accidentally dropped a heavy       backpack right on the top of her head while on    the bus.  This caused her C5-6 disc to herniate.   and her symptoms started right back up again.    Since that night she started to have horrible pain in her neck and down into her arms, weakness in her arms and frightening shocking sensations.

Neurological therapies were tried and when her symptoms only increased surgery was                      scheduled again. Her second surgery took place on December 16th 2019 and consisted on              taking out the plate that was placed on her c4-5 vertebrae, a c5-6 fusion (ACDF) and a new plate connecting c4-6 vertebrae together.

Being a new teacher in Oklahoma, Lindsey only had 12 days of sick leave and 3 personal days       that she could use for the time off she needs for both surgeries, recovery and check-ups with the neuro-surgeon.  These days are now spent and   Lindsey will have to spend money out of pocket  for any other time  she needs for recovery or Dr. appointments.  She has been working everyday.  through her pain up until surgery and scheduled both surgeries so that school holidays would        take place during her recovery times.  We are      asking for help so that she can take the time she needs to recover fully before going back to work before she is healed and so she can attend her    post op visits without added stress of missing     pay.

Lindsey is a wonderful wife, mother and teacher who always goes above and beyond for those      around her and just needs a little help getting      through this rough patch now so that she can       continue to give her all to her family and                  students.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
