The Go For A Nigerian Chess Grandmaster Initiative is aimed at producing the very First Nigerian Chess Grandmaster. #Go For A Nigerian Chess Grandmaster, is in conjunction with various stakeholders within the Nigerian Chess Community.
The target is for a Nigerian to win the African Individual Chess Championships (AICC) which is to hold in Lagos, come May 20th 2020. The AICC is the only Chess Tournament in Africa that confers the winner with the Grandmaster title. We have decided to acquire the services of a Grandmaster trainer from the Netherlands to preparing about 25 of the most talented Nigerian Chess Players who are expected to participate and win the AICC 2020 event. The preparation process will require professional fees to the GM trainer, his hotel accommodation, flight ticket (return), and the cost of sending out some of our local players to international tournaments for exposure and experience, these are the reasons why we are embarking on a fund raising mission to ensure the goal of producing a Nigerian GM by May 2020 is achieved.
