Due to the effects of Covid-19, our once-thriving business is becoming a great concern for us yet again. For the third time in 10 months, we have had to close our farm gates to the public, and our once buzzing farm is now deserted, with the pigs wondering where their adoring public are.
The majority of our income comes from our visitors, bookings and events, which have not been able to go ahead and we don't know when they can happen again.
Trying to remain as humble as possible in these times of hardship, we have been upselling our merchandise, designing bundles and reducing our adoptions by 50%. These are a few of the lockdown deals we have developed.
Sadly we cannot survive on the massively reduced income we now have, and with recent piglets being born and three more litters due in May, we have a growing concern for our beloved animals.
The upkeep of our pigs costs us in excess of £800 every month, this coupled with our monthly business outgoings has left us uncertain about the future of Kew Little Pigs, which has been 10 years in the making.
We are now getting to a stage where we need to reach out and ask for some support. Any funds raised will go towards the animal's feed - some of you would have seen our regular trips to the supermarket for fruit and vegetables last time.
We know we have many loving and loyal supporters who have been so amazing to us this year - two of our volunteers even became full-time members of staff! Our followers have been amazing in giving us much encouragement that has been needed over recent months when our motivation has been at its lowest.
If you are able to help, the pigs would be forever grateful.
