Imogen Roe is a 9 year old girl from Drayton, Norwich, with relapsed Leukaemia. Unfortunately chemotherapy alone isn't enough to cure her, so she now needs a Bone Marrow Transplant to give her the best chance of beating cancer again. 


Imogen was first diagnosed 3 years ago, spending a significant amount of time in hospital. Early this year Imogen got to 'ring the bell', to signify the end of her treatment journey, everyone was thrilled. 


Unfortunately 6 months later, in July this year, the Leukaemia returned. She then spent the majority of time until mid November in Addenbrookes hospital having chemo and immunotherapy treatment, until a Bone Marrow match could be found. 


Imogen's twin was set to be a match, until genetic tests proved them to be identical - a complete shock for the family, who believed them to be non-identical for nearly a decade! Obviously having identical DNA is now a concern for Imogen's sister, Charlotte. 


Imogen's brother Liam is not suitable to be a match as his marrow is compromised from chemotherapy medicines he takes for Arthritis and Uveitis. So the family were overjoyed when a cord from America was found to be a very good match. 


Imogen is currently in Bristol Hospital being prepared for her transplant on the 29th November. This conditioning treatment involves intense chemotherapy and eight sessions of Total Body Irradiation - a form of radiation treatment to her entire body. 


She will spend months in isolation there, miles from home over Christmas. Contact with siblings is from behind glass. The family are completely divided. 


We are raising money for Imogen and her family as this has turned their lives upside down. The daily commute to Addenbrookes is around 150 miles, and to Bristol is around 500 there and back, 5 hours each way. 


Imogen's parents have to divide their time as they try to provide some normality for the other children. Both parents have had to give up work. The money we raise will go towards helping Imogen's family in daily living costs, travel expenses and making memories so they can all enjoy precious time together. 


Imogen herself came up with a 'cracker challenge' to raise awareness of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow registered charity, alongside a Go Fund Me page. The charity supports and helps people with blood cancer find a match. 


She loves a challenge / prank and always has a smile on her face. You can see her cracker recording and follow her story on her Facebook page. She has even had a few famous faces give it a try. 


The family are so grateful and overwhelmed with the support from everyone. It's unbelievable how the local community and school have got involved with fundraising.
