After an 18 month recovery process in which Candice was able to get clean and sober, she was finally able to accomplish her goal of moving out of an Oxford house & getting her own place for her and Brooklyn. The same month, she was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and was scheduled for surgery at the end of July. After surgery, she found out that it had spread to her lymph nodes and will require multiple radiation treatments. She's been trying to take care of herself, her daughter, and go to work while navigating multiple appointments & continuing the work of recovery and helping others. Many people have reached out wondering what they might be able to do to help. This week after a trip to the E.R. she realized that it's time to ask for help. The reality is that with 13 doctor appts. in the next month she simply needs to take a few months off to focus on getting better and beating the shit out of this cancer. But she will need help making sure the bills are paid so she can do so. Candice is one who always takes care of others and now it's our turn to come together to take care of her.
