Dear Treasured Friend:
I have been offered an invaluable educational opportunity which is too rewarding to decline, yet much too expensive for me to afford. This coming May 2018, I have the opportunity to travel through the land of Israel on a 3 week study trip, studying the land and context of the Bible! This is an irreplaceable chance to experience history, culture, and general life in parts of the world, which previously have been merely foreign and unrealistic concepts in my mind. I believe that this experience will provide me with both invaluable context and critical insight into the life and teaching of Jesus. It will further my both my educational and experiential knowledge of the Bible and will allow me to more fully understand Jesus’ ministry in order to preach, teach and share the word of God at a much more effective level.
I am writing this letter to you to appeal for your support and assistance to enable me to participate in this once in a lifetime experience. In order to make the experience more attainable to students, the Assemblies of God’s Center for Holy Lands Studies has created this program specifically for college students in Bible college with an all-inclusive price of $4,500. This will include airfare, hotel expenses, travel expenses in land and will cover basic food necessities.
I am asking that you pray about making an investment in me, through helping provide some of the finances for this trip. At this point in my life I am fully aware that you have invested much of your time, energy and prayers in my endeavor at Bible college, however I ask you once more for your willingness to invest in this opportunity to advance my Biblical education lightyears further. This experience will greatly enrich my life and impact my future ministry as well. I realize that times are difficult for everyone, but I humbly ask that you consider my request.
