GO FUND, OUR MOM, GLORIA GANDIA’S FIGHT WITH CANCER
October 14, 2017 was the day the world changed. Our mom, Gloria Gandia, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
Being the fighter that she is, our mom wanted to fight the cancer. Unfortunately, surgery wasn't an option due to the cancer being so advanced. Doctors were also afraid that chemotherapy might not help her. While we moved forward with the first cycle of treatment, the doctors were correct - the chemo treatment had more negative effects than positive results. The only other option they had to offer was hospice care.
With our mom’s strong will to continue the battle with cancer, our family looked into alternative treatment methods. This led us to a referral to Dr. Nezami at the Orange Coast Medical Center of Hope. They offer MTET, which is multi-targeted epigenetic therapy that is non-toxic and is tailored to our mom’s specific cancer and the cells that have spread throughout her organs. This specific natural and non-toxic treatment could give us the positive results we are looking for. She wants a chance to fight and overcome this cancer and now has an opportunity to do so.
Since this is an alternative treatment, our medical insurance does not cover it. We’re reaching out to all of you for help. Our family has set up this GoFund Me page and all the funds donated will specifically cover the treatment and travel to and from the 2 medical office locations in Newport Beach and Fresno. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated and will help her during this time.
We, the Gandia family, want to say thank you again for the continued love, support, and positive thoughts for our mom. Despite coming from humble beginnings in the Philippines, she has made every sacrifice imaginable to help all of us (her 3 sons) flourish here as 1st generation Filipino-Americans. Please help her continue to fight this cancer and pass our fight on to others who may be willing to help.
