Dear Donor,
I hope this letter finds you well. As a student at Roberto Clemente I inspire to be a great chef i am currently studying culinary, I have a great opportunity to travel this summer to Latin America through Global Glimpse leadership program! Global Glimpse is a highly selective, structured leadership program that launches motivated US high school students from a wide range of backgrounds into a fascinating, transformative international experience. Global Glimpse has an innovative model that further empowers highschool students like me to build greater empathy,agency,and global perspective.100% of donor and foundation support goes to fund organizational growth and need-based travel scholarships for students from low-income backgrounds. I want to participate because I think it will be a great opportunity for me. Also it will teach me all about Latin America's culture and cuisine. I will learn about the taste and the rich background of Latin America.The culinary aspect alone will be just enough to inspire me to be a better chef. Also I want to get the leadership and motivational skills that Global glimpse offers so I can Imbed it into my career and production as I grow.
Through the program I will travel to Latin America for 16 days with other students from my city to learn more about leadership as part of a global community. I will have an opportunity to meet local leaders and spend time with community members to greater understand their culture,ways of living,and perspectives. Through Global Glimpse I will complete 40 hours of community service by teaching English to local community members and partnering with a local organization in a sustainable service project. I am super excited and over filled with ambition to see how I grow and learn from my time abroad. I am hopeful that immersing myself in another culture will help me better empathize with people. I am also looking to improve my spanish, as I believe this opportunity to improve my language skills will help me better engage and improve my community as well as others. After this Trip I will have the skills to be highly productive in my community and globally
I write this letter to you to sincerely ask for a small donation to help sponsor my trip. I need to raise 1000 dollars over the next five months,and know I can only accomplish through the power of community. You are important to me,so as a member of my community,would you be so kind to contribute to my goal. Any amount is appreciated, however, to help reach my goal, Iam looking for at least 50 people to donate $10 and another 10 people to donate $25,as I work a part time job at After School Matters I will raise the last 250 dollars.
If you are to be so kind as to help me reach my goal you can donate in cash which I can pick up from you. When I return, I look forward to showing you pictures and telling you all about my experience.
