Thank you for visiting our crowdfunding campaign. We are a team of PhD students working on climate change at different universities. We are raising funds for our non-profit initiative called “Global Climate Research Portal”, a first-of-its-kind platform that will help connect the global climate change research community together. The portal will aggregate information on ongoing climate change research and make it available to all on an open-access basis in a meaningful manner. It will help you find out what form of climate change research is happening where, by whom and help you connect with them. The portal will be launched with an existing database of around 170 ongoing climate change related PhD projects at the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT and Yale. The attached video explains the rationale of our initiative.
We are aiming to raise 10,000 GBP (approx. 13,800 USD) to hire a professional web-developer to create and launch the portal. As this is an entirely student-led initiative, we are heavily constrained in terms of access to various funding channels that could fund this project. Hence, we are going for the crowdfunding route. This will also help us to keep this project independent and ensure we can keep it open access for all.
We would be very grateful for any contribution you can make to our crowdfunding campaign. Please know that your contribution will go towards a not-for-profit initiative that, we believe, could be a game changer in the global fight against climate change.
