Global Arts Camp for the community

Roots and Wings Global Arts Camp is a celebration of many cultures of the world and the artistic expression of all people. In this one week camp, kids ages five an up experience Cultural and Traditional dance forms such as Break Dance, Drum, Capoeira, along with visual art and creative movement activities. It gives a chance for cultural arts specialists to share their expertise and build community in a meaningful way.
My passion is to bring this experience to kids from ALL backgrounds and income levels. I want to see that all kids have access and exposure to dance training and the arts!
To do this, I need your help. The cost for one full-day week of camp is $190 per child. It's a challenge for me to offer free spots but it's extremely important to me to always share the beauty of this camp to all interested, regardless of their families income levels. My goal is to provide scholarships for four kids so that they can have this wonderful cultural experience and so that their parents can work without additional daycare costs or stress.
I am also offering a similar camp to the residents of City Heights. This camp will be completely FREE, so you can also sponsor a child’s attendance for that week. I'm so excited to be able to offer a beautiful dance experience for kids that may not otherwise have the exposure. All donors are invited to our end of the week performance on July 28th at 3:30 pm!
Your donation (of any amount is tremendously appreciated!) will cover the cost of studio rental and the array of excellent instructors teaching that week. For every $100 donation, we will post a personalized shout out to you on our Facebook page (with your permission, of course).
I am also offering a similar camp to the residents of City Heights. This camp will be completely FREE for residents of that neighborhood. This camp will take place for an entire week this summer out of the City Heights Performance Annex. Since I have done extensive work in that community and also experienced the beauty of the international and refugee population, I am very moved to make this happen. Your donations will also help me to pay excellent instructors as I am bringing in experts in African drum and dance and other areas to ensure a diverse representation.
