Gleevac for Greg!!!!

We prayed for this day to never come, however, in March, my dad learned that his cancer had returned. For those that know my dad, he has fought the battle of remission for 20 years through the effects of chemo, radiation, numerous surgeries, tremendous pain, sleepless nights, medication after medication, trial treatments, kidney failure, ostomy complications and the list goes on. But in those 20 years, he has never given up and has never felt any ailment could hold him down or take away his love for life. His infectious smile and personality and his ability to relate and talk to anyone has carried him to this point. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, family, friends, Reidsville High School, racing memories, his church family and many many more has kept him focused and given him a purpose to keep pushing on. He has been a huge inspiration to those that thought Cancer automatically meant death. No matter how sick, he always managed to pull it together to support his family and friends. However, we have reached a major bump in this journey. Due to Daddys history, surgery is not an option for him. There is a slim chance that he will be able to take Radiation again. That leaves Chemotherapy as his only chance to help reduce the size of the tumor. I'm not one to beg or share my sorrows with people and I am very stubborn when it comes to asking for help but for this man, I am asking, praying, and pleading for ANY help that someone is able to offer. Daddy has a special kind of cancer that is not covered by any foundations for financial assistance. We have applied for financial assistance through the drug companies and have yet to hear anything. All the while, Daddys sits in pain, stresses and the cancer is not being treated. He is not able to start his treatment until the first month is paid for in full. The drug is called Glevac. The expense for the treatment is $3000 for the first month, $4000 for the second month and then $450 every month after that for life. If you can't give financially, I am asking that you SHARE this post or PRAY for my dad. Those two things alone can bless him tremendously, maybe more than any financial donation. It is very hard to get to this point and ask for help and publicize your struggles, but for those that know my dad, and for those that don't....he is a very special man that has touched many lives and absolutely deserves the chance to try and beat this AGAIN! Thank you in advance for any type of support that you are able to give! #GregJonesisoneofakind #GregJonesnevergivesup #GregJonesistrulymyhero
