Glenn Sadler's Open Heart Surgery

My wonderful husband Glenn Sadler has been struggling with heart issues for several years now starting with a heart attack a few years back.  Since then he has had multiple other problems with his heart such as Atrial fibrillation, weakness, and shortness of breath.  He was just hospitalized again a few weeks ago due to heart failure.  Upon his discharge he was diagnoses with heart failure  / Pulmonary hypertension.    He has had a leaky aortic heart valve  that we have known about for a while  but just yesterday while visiting his cardiologist we found out that all his heart problems most likely are being caused by this leaky valve.  The valve leak is severe and without open heart surgery to replace the valve he will surely not make it and will go into heart failure agian.  This was good news that it is possible that this surgery will solve most if not all of his heart problems and prolong his life.  But then again this surgery is not only scary but expensive.  We are still waiting to find out how much of this procedure will be covered by his VA benefits and how much we will have to pay out of pocket.  Glenn will also be unable to work for a good period of time after the surgery, this will leave us with only one income and will be extremely hard on us.
