I am running the Great North Run again this year. To add some even more fun into the 13.1 miles this year, I am going to be running the distance in a pair of Crocs.
Running is one of my favourite things to do and is my go to for resetting my mind and re-energising my soul. Though not a fan of runs over about 8 miles, I love the GNR, the buzz of the crowds and the emotion of the achievement that comes at the end. I'm not looking for any times etc and want to go out and enjoy it and I thought doing it in Crocs would help towards that, alongside seeing friends on the way round (spectating or running), eating all the sweets and ice pops that come my way and the quick beer at mile 10 too.
This year, I want to run and raise money for Mickey's Place, a Community Café and Support Hub in Washington!
Mickey's Place are more than just a food bank; they are a warm and welcoming community café and support hub. Based in Sulgrave, Washington, they serve the local community and surrounding areas.
Their mission is simple yet powerful: aim to create a vibrant, healthy, and economically strong community where nobody goes hungry or feels lonely.
If you have read this far, well done and of you can spare anything to my fundraising it would be very much appreciated.
