On December 21, 2017, Glenda got a surprise visit late at night from two BCSO Sheriff Deputies requesting her company at Lovelace Hospital, downtown Albuquerque. Previously that day, Glenda's coworkers had taken her to the doctor due to slurred speech and confusion. After some blood work, she was sent home. However, that evening, her doctor determined Glenda was very sick and requested the hosptial visit immediatley due to extremely high calcium levels and failing kidneys, amongst other problems.
Fast forward to December 29, 2017. After numerous tests, labs, biopsies and two rounds of chemo (that's right, chemo) the team of doctors informed Glenda she has an advanced form of Multiple Myeloma (cancer of plasma cells affecting the bones). Glenda will need lots of love, visits, care and support, in addition to 24/7 medical support for the next two to three months. Our family is so grateful to have such a large extended family, and know you all are supporting her. Many of you know the love and dedication of this woman to God, her family, friends, and job. Glenda has proven her strength by raising three rambunctious boys on her own.
We have a large goal to help aid in her care, and even bigger prayers. We are calling on anyone who can help to please do so. Every little bit will help in a show of support for Glenda and her family as we care for her during this time.
