Glen Shamblen's Final Expenses

Donation protected
Our beloved brother Glen Shamblen went to be with our Lord Monday, July 24th, 2017. Glen was a man of the Lord, a family man, a loving husband, a compassionate father, a fun brother, a grandpa that loved to laugh, and a great friend to many.

Glen was born Dec 12th, 1957. His first love was baseball, he had a passion for playing second base and short stop. Glen graduated Leto High School in Tampa and went to college at Bob Jones University in South Carolina. There Glen received a degree in Accounting and Pastoral Studies. Not long after graduating college Glen married Laura Bradshaw. They had three sons and began raising them to be the great men they are today. His boys were the light in his eye, and it showed in how he talked about them. Glen married his second wife, Debbie Jones, which stayed by his side until his last breath. For those of you that do not know Debbie, she is a worldly angel. Her faith, nor love ever wavered through the most difficult times a couple can endure.

Glen developed chronic lymphocytic leukemia approximately 8 years ago. He had gone through multiple chemotherapy treatments that put it into remission for shortening periods of times after every treatment. The doctors at Moffit Cancer Center told him in order to beat it he would need a bone marrow stem cell transplant. Glen battled through the Stem Cell Transplant process, he battled through months of in hospital recovery, then more months of home recovery till finally, with God’s grace, he beat leukemia!

Glen started back to work at his accounting firm. He worked half days at first, building up his stamina working longer days as he felt better. Unfortunately, Glen took a turn for the worse in January of this year. Glen had a series of strokes and could not recover.

Glen and his wife Debbie have fought and battled with medical bills from leukemia and stroke treatments including costly medications. They have struggled through this time and now have the burden of Glen’s final expenses. In Lieu of flowers, we humbly ask for contributions to Glen’s Final Expense Fund.

If you cannot let go of sending flowers, we understand, flowers may be sent to:

Swilley Funeral Home
1602 W. Waters Ave.
Tampa, FL 33604

Glen’s family will be receiving friends to pay their condolences Saturday, July 29, 1-2pm at Swilley Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 2 pm.

Funds will be distributed to Glen's spouse Debbie Jones for his final expenses.
