In the middle of the night on Oct. 2 a devastating chimney fire destroyed the home and property of Glen and Sherry Burton. The home was an icon in the town of Gray's Lake- it was Sherry's childhood home and a place that generations of family gathered together. This retired couple has spent countless hours and so much money updating this 200 year old home. Luckily Sherry was awake when the fire started to overtake the chimney and she grabbed what little she could while Glen tried to fight the fire. They soon realized that it was time to leave their home for the last time. They left with not much more than the clothes on their backs. Their immediate needs are replacing clothing, personal care items, and things to get them by until more permanent solutions are found. They need funds to travel around the country so they can stay with family who has offered to take them in temporarily. Every small donation is greatly appreciated at this time of great need.
