Gleam Over Cancer

I’m raising money to help me with my medical bills while I’m not able to work being sick with Cancer. It’s been a hard time just dealing with the fact that I’m sick but actually going through the treatment is something else. It’s hard but I’m strong and I’m going to push through.

4 months ago, I started having back pain. Being that I was working out a lot I thought I hurt myself in the gym somehow. I started taking pain killers and for a small time, it was working and helping me deal with the pain I was in. Then by the next month the pain killers, were no longer working. My back pain became an unbearable back and hip pain. I no longer could sit up for long periods of time or stand as a matter of fact. I went to a back specialist who wrongly diagnosed me with sciatica. I would go to physical therapy and do the exercises they asked of me daily but I just wasn’t getting better. I spent the majority of my day laying down and unable to go out. I wasn’t even going to work. It was terrible. This would last for over a month. Then one day around 4 in the morning, I said I can’t live like this! That’s when I googled top doctors in NYC and then went for a full examination. What the doctor told me after examining me would change my life forever. I had a lump that he was very concerned about and I needed to get an ultrasound/MRI right away. I went into the hospital that evening, where I had all types of tests performed on me. That was November 2nd. That was the start date of the fight of my life.

Being in the hospital, it seemed like it was about to be my new home. It was a super challenge. My right leg had swollen up to more than doubled the size of my left. I was getting daily news on where the cancer was spreading and had spread. By the second day I was heading to surgery to remove the lump that was in my body. Everything was happening so fast. But the thing was, I still felt blessed. See, my family and friends were coming to see me and I never felt alone the first few days or week I was in the hospital. I couldn’t believe how many people were there for me. I felt overwhelmed with emotion. I said to myself, I’m beating this! There is no way I’m loosing to cancer. I’ve been blessed with great people in my life and that’s all I need and God to be well again. So as of now, I fight the tough fight! But it feels like I’m winning every round. Now, all I want to do is bring awareness to people who don’t get checked regularly to start. Knowing what’s going on in your body is immensely important! We have families and friends that need us to be around. And knowing something is wrong with you early, can definitely save your life. So I started Gleam Over Cancer. In time, this will grow and help bring that awareness to people like me, who had no idea back pain may be caused by cancer. So take this journey with me and watch me win and Gleam Over Cancer.
