Every hockey player who laces up their skates shares a common dream: the thrill of stepping onto the ice, the camaraderie in the locker room, and the pursuit of hockey glory. For the kids in District 5, hockey is a passion—a space where everyone pays their league fees and expects a fair shift to play the game they love.

However, we all know the harsh reality of competitive teams. The focus is so often placed solely on winning the championship that it casts a shadow on the true spirit of youth hockey. In the District 5 draft, the 7 latest draft picks taken by Glatts will find themselves on the "backside of success." Because the top players are expected to take up the vast majority of the ice time, these 7 kids will likely barely get to touch the ice all season.

Hockey teaches resilience, but no family should pay full price just for their kid to open the bench door for the top line. Missing out on shifts is incredibly disheartening when you've shelled out hard-earned money just to watch from the sidelines.

That is why I am launching this fundraiser. While we can’t force the coach to roll all the lines, we can ensure these families aren't financially penalized for a season spent sitting on the bench. This isn't just about the money; it's a message to these kids that their time, their dreams, and their effort matter to our hockey community.

Please consider making a donation to support these players and show them that they are a valued, essential part of our team. Thank you for your generosity, for believing in fair ice time, and for helping me give these players the relief they deserve.
