Hi everyone,
Our family needs your help; our dear brother Mike Capetillo is the most amazing person you’ll ever know. He is the most thoughtful, kind, and extremely independent.
Those who know Mike are aware of the hilarious, outgoing and personable guy he is. He is always happy despite his everyday battle with Multiple Sclerosis. You rarely hear him complain about the pain that he is feeling or the rapid deterioration of his body. This illness has caused him to miss out on many of the things that he once loved to do such as hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding, etc.….
Mike was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998 sadly enough we saw how MS took over his life. The once adventurous guy we knew no longer could enjoy what he once liked to do. Since his diagnoses he has lost mobility and function and his health has declined. Due to MS Mike has developed a foot drop, he can no longer walk without the assistance of a walker. Mike has tried multiple medications but none have helped.
Our family has recently found a device that will give Mike back his freedom known as, Bioness L300.
Bioness was designed and developed for people with neurological conditions. This device is made to help those with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis walk more naturally and to achieve an improved balance. By using low-level electrical stimulation, nerves and muscles are activated to help raise the foot (something Mike can no longer do on his own). This device is something that Mike needs and deserves. The total cost of this device is $12,000, which is not covered by insurance. Mike has not been able to work since 2010, so you can understand why any donation big or small would help. Please help our family raise this money. We are forever grateful.
