Heidi Scranton's Medical Fund

I am raising money  for Heidi Scranton's medical expenses.  I met Heidi at Hazel Findlay Country Manor when I started volunteering at the nursing home at age 5.  Heidi is the activities director and helps out all the residents.  She also volunteers for the St. Johns Mint Festival, and works with the St. Johns Chamber of Commerce as well as the St. Johns Senior Center.  I started helping her out with the festival every year after seeing how passionate she was about helping our community.  Heidi has volunteered year round for our festival not just during it.  She gives so much to our community.  I don't think people realize how much she does.  She gives so much of her time not only to the residents at Hazel Findlay, but also to the citizens of St. Johns.  She would never ask for anyones help.  She is so caring and compassionate to everyone around her that I feel it is time that the community gave back to her.  I recently did a fund raiser at my school and won $100.00 for all my hard work and I want to donate that to Heidi to thank her for everything she has done for us.  I am helping my Aunt Missy Werbish-SanMiguel host a benefit in Heidi's honor on Saturday November 8th, from 4 pm. to 8 pm.  at the St. Johns K of C.  There will be a silent auction and the price for dinner is $8.00 for adults, kids 5-12 are $4.00 and 4 years old and younger are free.  I hope that you will all join me.  And if you can't attend, then I ask that you please consider donating to her medical bills.  Even $5.00 can make a difference in her life.  And if you are unable to give I ask that you please say a prayer for her and her medical team.  That they may find the answers at Mayo Clinic to make her better.  No one could figure out what is making her health fail in Michigan so she had to drive to Mayo Clinic to hopefully get some answers.  The picture I posted of Heidi is a picture that was taken at a former classmate's funeral.  She helped raise money for her friend and helped that family be able to afford and lay their loved one to rest in a beautiful final farewell tribute.  That is how wonderful she is!  She is always giving her time and energy and money to others.  She is always paying it forward.  I feel like it is time for our community to come together to pay it forward to her!  She really needs help financially for her mounting medical bills.  She would never ask for help and she will probably be embarrassed that I did this.  But someone needed to!  I can't even begin to describe what an amazing person she is!  I have countless stories.  She organizes and helps out with so many things in town, that I don't even think people realize how much she does for all of us!  Thank you so much for reading her story and thank you for your prayers and donations.  God Bless you all,  Katie Neubecker
