On May 5th, 2017, I had a massive stroke caused by a combination of high blood pressure and a possible from-birth weakness in a blood vessel in my brainstem (they can't operate to know for sure) that left my entire right side paralyzed. Through intensive physical and occupational therapy at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis as well as Alton Physical Therapy at the Jersey Community Hospital Wellness Center, I am able to walk again using a left hand only walker, and my hope is to eventually regain the use of my right hand so that I can return to my beloved pipe organ and piano. However, I am mindful of how lucky I was that there appears to be no long-term impact on my cognative powers or memory, and that if this physical problem is the worse I have to face then that makes  this probably one of the best possible outcomes, if this whole thing had to happen. So I have been reluctant to set up thiskind of thing, but I have learned that accepting help when needed isnt a repudiaton of that understanding. So I ask for that help, to help in my fight to bring my ability to share music with others again. It won't be easy, but it seems nothing worth anything ever is.
