My name is Jordan Hurwitz and today I am going to try something very new - I am going to ask for your help.
I have recently been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record an EP with an iconic musician and producer, one of the best in the business. However, this comes with a price tag. I am now faced with the task of raising $25,000 to cover the costs.

While contemplating how to describe myself, I have concluded that it can be summed up into a simple cause and effect: my self worth and my music.
My life has been somewhat of an uphill battle. At a very young age I implanted the idea in my head that I wasn't good enough. To this day I am still at a loss for where these feelings came from - I have the most supportive family, the most incredible friends, an amazing community… but as anyone who feels this way will tell you, at the end of the day the only resonating opinion of myself is my own. To this day, I am still fighting to make myself believe that I am good enough, that I am worth it. My music is singlehandedly what has brought me from rock bottom towards these beliefs.
I started writing songs a little over five years ago and continue to fall more in love with the art every single day. Along the way I have also worked intensely on developing the ability to play various instruments and finesse my vocal and performance skills. I plan on pursuing contemporary singing and songwriting in college, and as a career. I have never felt anywhere near as passionate as I do about creating and performing my music.
I write this today to convey to you that for the first time in my life, I believe in myself. My hope is that in reading this, you can believe in me as well. I am so driven, so passionate, so dedicated, and so deeply committed to my music and I am elated to see where it will take me in the future.
This is the first step.
