George's Medical Bills

It's hard..but I'm asking for your help!

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we had let our two dogs (Charlie & George) out to play with the grandchildren. One of the dogs-George-came up missing.
My Husband (Charles) & Grandson (Nolan) got on the 4-wheeler & combed the area, going through the woods, going up-and-down & through the nearby neighborhoods. Nothing.
Then about 30 min later,
my neighbor was on her front porch when she heard a big crash, and then she heard the cries of a dog in pain. She immediately ran out there because she recognized that sound was our fur baby-George.
However, when she got out there, there was no vehicle and no George. She immediately called us and we were there in a matter of minutes. We still searched the area until it became dark. Nothing further we could do at this point but cry and pray.

So the next day we begin our search all over again. Nothing. Later that day as Charles was coming back on the golf cart from taking the trash out, here comes George hopping up the driveway on three legs. His other leg was just dragging on the ground. And he was crying and crying and crying out loud. So Charles runs in the house screaming to me that George is back. I dropped everything and we headed to the doggie hospital.

A few x-rays were done and showed some possible hip joint damage. Didn't look like any internal bleeding, so that is good. However, could be some bladder & spline damage. But time will tell as he needed to be there for a few days for observation.

And they might have to send him to a doggie specialist in Tampa, which is addition to the unknown hospital fees, could be an additional $5,000 or more.

All of this, because someone hit our fur baby...and kept on driving.
George is a 3 year old, Black & Tan bloodhound. He is like a big teddy bear and because of his extra floppy body, that probably saved him from getting more damage than he did.

I'm a Marine...it's my job to help others and have spent my life doing so. Now I need your help. We are retired and live on a fixed income. We realize times are difficult for everyone, but would great appreciate any financial contributions you can provide. Thank you, in advance, for your support and prayers.
