Giving Tree’s next big anniversary will be our 50th, just 8 years away!! The entire Giving Tree community has worked hard over the years to continue the school’s tradition of being the most playful, appealing, and effective learning environment possible. To celebrate our long history, our challenge and vision is to revitalize, rejuvenate, and modernize our building to the best standards of green and sustainable energy. Last year, for example, the board decided to install a heat pump, for efficient quiet energy, for both hot and cold weather. We are pleased to announce the launch of our 50 Years Capital Campaign! The funds you help to raise will ensure inspired and responsible stewardship of this most valued educational space, both inside and out.
The vision for some of the donations is to build a multi-purpose addition. The renovations will provide expanded space for our mudroom, for our administrator and teachers, and for parent conferences, as well as more energy-efficient exterior siding and windows. The addition will include a living roof, a fitting expression of our nature-focused ideals. Also included, of course, will be our continued investment in high standards for rich and warm learning experiences. This year, in addition to our individualized, play-based and conflict resolution curriculum, we are providing enrichment through music, movement, and Spanish language immersion opportunities for the children.
Giving Tree School continues to invest in children by supporting each child to appreciate and know themselves, their community, and the world around them. We continue to grow and change. But what hasn’t changed at Giving Tree is the respect for the thoughts and feelings of each child, caring for their perspective on the world as it is being discovered, and being there as each child finds their inherent greatness.
