<div><strong>Calling all cat lovers— Raine needs our help!</strong><br /> <br />Meet Raine!  With her gorgeous blue eyes and soft, fluffy fur, Raine looks like a little angel.  FFGW rescued her from a rural shelter and when she went to be spayed our veterinarian alerted us that something major was wrong with Raine's heart.  We were able to get her into a cardiologist within days, and it was discovered that <strong>Raine has a birth defect. . . but the amazing news is that it can be fixed with surgery!</strong><br /> <br />With that amazing news also came some bad news. <strong>The surgery to correct her heart defect will be in the $8,000 range.</strong><br /> <br />Raine is only 9 weeks old and, if she makes it through the surgery, the cardiologist said they would do a follow-up checkup a few months later and if all is well, would release Rain <strong>with confidence that she would not need ongoing medical treatment.  </strong><br />Without the surgery, Raine will die.<br /><br />We really need our supporters to rally to help us raise the funds for Raine's operation, which is <strong>scheduled for mid-December.</strong>  (She is so tiny that the surgeon would like her to double her weight before risking the surgery - but it's a delicate balance because we can't risk waiting too long!)<br /><br />Here is a link to the defect that occurred during Raine's fetal development:   <a href="https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/patent-ductus-arteriosus-in-the-cat" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/patent-ductus-arteriosus-in-the-cat</a><br /><br /><strong>Please help us cover Raine's heart operation.</strong>
