The COVID-19 crisis has left many people in need. We are an independent Chicago-area restaurant that has been shut down as a result of the crisis. Until we can open again for full service, we would like to donate our time and kitchen to cooking meals for those in need. This would be modeled on our March 20 preparation and delivery of 76 free meals to every resident at Jacob Blake Tower, a local affordable housing community for the elderly where Tenants pay rent based on their income. At the same time, we would like to find a way help our non-management staff pay their bills during this time when they are not earning their regular pay (because our doors are closed). All contributions to this GoFundMe will be used for ONLY two things: (1) food and supplies; and (2) supporting our non-management staff with payments to them equivalent to their normal wage for their time in support of this effort. As an extra incentive for those of you able to open your wallets a little wider during this trying time, we would like to offer our brand-new NaKorn t-shirt for donations of $150 or more and a $50 NaKorn gift card for donations of $300 or more. Just communicate with us through the GoFundMe platform to provide your shirt size and mailing address! Shirts will be delivered this summer, to allow our focus on giving meals in the short term. Bless you for looking, and thank you for donating!! Sam and Mina, founders and owners of NaKorn.
