Giving "Jet" the Life he Deserves

Donation protected
UPDATE:  "Silent Ruler" aka "Jet" remains at the Hopsital where he is dealing with a persistent infection over one of the screws that was inserted in the plate that helps fuse his joint.  He has been undergoing some hyperbaric chamber therapy and regional antibiotic infusions to deal with this.  There is a chance that one screw may have to be removed.  Because of this slight setback, the costs for his care have gone up a little, so if anyone out there can give just a little bit more, or give for the first time, to help get us that extra $1500 we need it would be most appreciated!!

For those not familiar with his story, please see below.

Racehorses give their all for us when they are on the track.  They give everything they have for our enjoyment and pleasure.  We OWE it to them to make sure they are taken care of after their racing days are over.  What we DO NOT OWE them is to leave them in a condition like "Jet" was found in on the backside.  He was suffering from a severe fracture of his right front ankle that had been neglected for some time.  In unbelievable pain and suffering from some state of shock, it was only be a sheer stroke of luck that the veterinarian who is part of Pennsylvania Racehorse Rehoming, Rehabilitation, and Rescue (PARR) came upon him and was able to institute life saving care right there for him.  Finally in a small bit of relief, he was transported back to PARR's farm to be further evaluated.
After X-Rays revealed the true nature of the injury, the only thing that could save his life was a joint fusion procedure called an arthrodesis.  This surgery is very difficult and must be done be board certified veterinary surgeons.  PARR was able to bring "Jet" to one of the best, and thanks to generous donations from the Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundations Last Chance Fund and Dawn Mellons "After the Finish Line" Foundation, PARR had enough initial money to allow the surgery to be done.  He has done very well and so far his recovery appears to be going well.  Depsite the generous nature of donations already received, PARR still needs to raise another $3,000 to cover the remainder of all his medical expenses.
When you look at "Jet" and you look in his eye, you can see his fighting spirit combined with a very kind nature.  You can see his desire to want to live.  You can see evidence of the pain and suffering no animal should have to endure at the hands of a neglectful caretaker.
Every cent of the donations raised through this campaign will go directly to PARR and "Jet's" care.  I know people out there can find even a small amount of money to give to help him.  He already has a likely adoptive home after he recovers.  All we have to do is make sure PARR has the resources to get him there.  The sooner I can get the funds the better, as the vet who has done this surgery has been overly gracious in giving us time to raise the remaining funds.

NO HORSE DESERVES TO GO THROUGH WHAT HE HAS.  NO HORSE DESERVES TO BE TREATED THE WAY HE WAS AFTER GIVING ALL HE HAD ON THE TRACK.  WE OWE IT TO "JET" TO GIVE HIM THE LIFE HE DESERVES NOW!!!

PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN!!!!

THANK YOU FROM ME.  THANK YOU FROM PARR. MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH....THANK YOU FROM "JET"!!!!!
