Giving for Jaxon

Donation protected
During this time of giving, Lance and I would like to share a story about a very special family to us and most importantly to London.

As you may know, London was on donated breast milk the first ten months of her life.  A sweet lady had her son a month before London.  When I reached out for the breast milk, she was the first to respond that she had a deep freezer full and would love to share with us because her son was in ICU and was not taking much.  I took her up on her offer, and met her at her home with a cooler to bring it home in.  Never realizing that she filled up my cooler along with another one she had. As her and I became friends, I learned of Jaxon's struggles with his health.  He was diagnosed with Black Diamond Anemia.  The disease caused him to have 46 blood transfusions by the age of 4 months.  Today, she cannot count how many he has had at 16 months of age. At the end of the first week of November, they traveled to a specialist in Oklahoma City.  Jaxon will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant sometime next year.  During that time, they will be in OKC for 3-4 months for the transplant and recovery.  She will be returning to the Tulsa area to go to her doctor appointments and to have her second son.  She found out she was pregnant (with its own complications) and due in March.

Breast milk is the best that you can do for a child, and I cannot tell you how many thousands of ounces she gave us all while expecting nothing in return.  What a strong family her, her husband, and Jaxon are.  I am forever grateful to what they have given to London.

We want to give back this year, and what better family than this one.  If you already donate during this time of year, we ask that you consider giving to this family because during the 3-4 months away from their home, they will have additional expenses like room and board, food, gas to and from, medical bills not covered, etc.

Love,
