Giving back to Doris

My Aunty Dotti (Doris Shillingsworth) is truly a remarkable woman. Anyone who knows Aunty Dotti would only speak highly of her. She welcomes everyone & anyone into her home. She will always provide a bed, a feed, the clothes off her back if need be & doesnt expect anything in return. Aunty Dotti is a very caring woman not only towards her friends, family and mob but towards the rest of her community and strangers as well. Aunty Dotti's has an abundance of knowledge of the Indigenous culture especially regarding her own tribes history. She continues to teach and motivate the younger generation (both Indigenous and non Indigenous) about the Aboriginal culture. Aunty Dotti encourages all to dream big and emphasizes that education is the key. She has the ability to motivate young and old and is an inspiration to all around her. Aunty Dotti has worked in education for many years working with primary school children, in this role she has always gone above and beyond, including working in the hoildays with her mentoring program. Aunty Dotti is always there for those in need, now its our turn to give back. Unfortunately Aunty Dotti was diagnosed with cancer late last year (2017). She had her surgery and returned to work immediately. Now its time for Aunty Dotti to undergo treatment. In order for Aunty Dotti to receive medical treatment she will need stay away from home as her local hospital does not provide the treatment she requires. Once her treatment is completed Aunty Dotti will have to return to work immediately as she doesnt have the funds to have any more time off work, therefore not allowing her body to rest & not giving her body ample time to recover. We decided to start this donation page to allow Aunty Dotti to have one less stress, to give her body both physical & mentally a decent rest so to prevent any potential complications during the time of treament & during her recovery/post treatment. Funds will be used for everyday living for Doris which includes food, bills etc. It would be greatly appreciated if you could donate whatever you are able to, whether it be $1, $5, $20 or $50.
