Giving back to Brooke from Consciousnest

Hi, My name is Kyle.

I have long been a volunteer for a state funded harm reduction program very similar

to Consciousnest.

I ventured off to volunteer with Brooke for the first time @ EFF 2020 & EFF 2021.

Since then I have been continuously mind blown by how extraordinary the space is. The enormous amounts of labour, love, and money that Brooke has committed to create this not only life-changing, but truly life-saving space, a safe space that brings community together, looking after each other when we need it most, that is absolutely awe-inspiring & unique.

One thing I didn't think about much until my second year around, is the fact that Brooke has done this all by herself (not excluding the team of course!) whilst raising a child, using HER OWN FUNDS to purchase all of the things that help make the space that is Consciousnest, and why she is so so valuable to me, the team & the entire community.

I have watched care spaces being created whilst having full time government funding & support and know;

even with that financial backbone the task is immensely stressful, requires extreme motivation and takes enormous amounts of physical & mental energy to achieve. Even with funding, it is not something that alot of people could fathom.

This fundraiser is to give back to Brooke.

The amount raised is not important. If you can't afford to donate, there is plenty of other free ways to show your thanks! :P

Any amount is amazing!

Hopefully it becomes a nice little kitty to give something back to Brooke financially, to say thank you & to remind her that none of these efforts have gone unnoticed. That we see what she has sacrificed for the greater good.

This is to show her that we really appreciate everything she has done & will do for the community.
