Giving An Old Pup Her Best Chance for a Home

Hey Everyone, if you know me then you know that I am a sucker for animals in need. You’ve also probably met the zoo of rescue dogs and cats. Well I found another stray, brought her home and she’s the most emaciated animal I’ve ever seen. Here’s the story:

Here on the far South Side of Chicago, Pullman has a reputation for loving and saving animals. To the point where animals get dumped here. This little love was spotted three months ago wandering the train tracks. Yesterday she had crawled into a backyard through a broken fence and given up. Neighbors thought that she was broken, unable to move. With some wet food and water, she immediately trusted, let herself be leashed and walked home with me. Seven awesome people worked together to get her somewhere safe. 

Old gal Foxy gobbled up food, gratefully accepted a bath, licked up some peanut butter and fell fast asleep. Today at the local vet, the expectations were grim, she looks like a skeleton with fluffy fur and has been eaten alive by fleas and flies. Nope, she’s old and will return to great health. She needs time, food, love, vaccinations and sadly, dental work. If she were to go to a shelter, no chance for a 10+ year old dog that looks half dead and needs dental work. She deserves a shot at a good forever home to retire to. This dog is pure sweetness and calming presence. She’s on the road to recovery with vaccines, medicine and her own jar of peanut butter. 

So, if you have a few bucks, it would go towards an “easy to adopt” status for this granny dog. The goal is to take care of vaccinations, spay surgery, meds to recover from the elements and putting some meat on these bones as well as a starter pack (bowls, bed, collar, leash and some food). I can do most of that but any help would make it easier for this silver fox to get adopted.
