Dear Family, Friends, and Well-Wishers,
Today we are requesting your financial help on behalf of a deserving Houston family in their time of immediate need. This particular family is dear to us and we decided to initiate this effort, as they are not ones to ask themselves. To respect their privacy we cannot disclose names; however here is their story:
For the past 10+ years they have been a staple to the Houston community, of which we have known them for 5 years. Through their financial struggles they have worked hard to support their livelihood and have always been grateful for what they have. They are a selfless family and despite limited resources have personally shown us acts of generosity on occasion.
Last week the family's breadwinner underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumor close to his heart. Despite the criticality of this surgery, the hospital almost cancelled it due to lack of a deposit – something they scrambled to collect last minute. Hospital stay was required post operation for quality care but each day added up to amounts they cannot afford. They have no insurance and significant medical bills piling up. Unfortunately, further tests have indicated that the tumor is malignant. Currently a PET scan is required to evaluate the extent of his disease and to select the most appropriate treatment. He cannot get this test done due to its high cost - and this is just the start.
The future is uncertain.They are a family of five struggling with ongoing medical expenses, treatment, and daily living costs. Lack of funds are adding constraints to conduct further testing for accurate treatment and procedures to help fight the cancer. This is a stress we want to relieve them of and your contribution (no matter how small or big) will impact them directly.
