GIVE'R for Kenneth!

Whether you’ve served him a coffee, or he was your best friend, you would remember Kenneth McAlpine as one of the most uplifting, positive and genuine human beings you’d ever met. His character was one that never altered with time, or was one to pass judgement. Kenneth was a son, a brother, a friend to many, and a positive influence and support in so many communities.

Kenneth allowed his faith to carry him on this journey on earth, and ultimately, to take him when he had served his purpose here and was called upon another mission. On August 26th, the same day Kenneth came into this world, 28 years later he left it. Though he was tragically taken from us too soon, he passed while doing what he loved, where he loved. At 28, Kenneth lived a life that not many of us will live in our entirety.

When asking the family if we could start funding to offer financial support for the costs of bringing Kenneth home and the funeral, Kathy instead suggested we raise funds on behalf of Kenneth to continue supporting the causes he’s no longer physically here to continue to support. Additionally, we will be purchasing a memorial bench facing the terminals where we can go to visit his spirit. 

This world can’t afford to lose souls like Kenneth’s. Though he’s no longer with us physically, it’s our responsibility as his friends and family to carry on his legacy and spirit while we’re still able. Let’s all commit to commemorating Kenneth through random acts of kindness every single day (or shall we call them “GIVE'Rs”?), and let’s start with this one!

Your donation will support the following;

-          First and foremost, a tree and bench in Kenneth's name to be placed in his hometown of Collingwood, overlooking the Collingwood Terminals, where we can all go to visit his spirit - family and friends will have a ceremony here for Kenneth once established. 
QUICK UPDATE: Now that funds have been raised for the bench and tree, we will be withdrawing $2,000 to the Town of Collingwood Parks Department. A policy within the department is currently out for approval and the bench and tree are expected to be installed in the spring.
-          Kidsport Canada, a foundation helping children to participate in sports they otherwise wouldn't have the financial ability to afford. Donations can be designated to specific communities. We will be splitting all donations between the locations closest to Kenneth's heart.
