Give a Hand to Ms. Bianca Leigh

We all knew that Bianca Leigh is a scorching hot woman but fate has taken it too far!

I write on behalf of my friend Bianca Leigh, who faced a terrifying house fire the other night in which she lost nearly everything material, and perhaps a beloved kitty as well. (UPDATE: Cesare is SAVED!)

Bianca is a canny, seasoned and deeply talented performer and writer. She is an inspiration to me about living an authentic life free of fear of the self and the debilitation that follows. She is openly transgender and that is one of the least interesting topics about this brave and talented performer.

One of my proudest moments as a writer was watching Bianca onstage on Broadway in the concert performance of Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City' last year, a music which I had the privilege of writing as the man on book.

The concert was groundbreaking in many ways as Justin Bond, another gender warrior, played the transgender landlord Anna Madrigal.

What tickled me to no end was the subversive message hidden in plain sight, that Bianca Leigh was cast and did a wonderful job portraying not a trans character but a biologically-born woman -- Michael Tolliver's conservative busybody mother, in fact!

Bianca has done tremendous amounts to raise transgender awareness by simply being herself, proudly and openly. And she is in need and I want all of her friends and the new friends she will be making to give her a hand. I already swung her an Amazon gift card and will pitch in even more to kick off this fundraiser. If there are others, then good! All contributions will help.

Thank you everybody. I need not tell Bianca to be strong for she simply is. Let us pray that her kitty comes back and was not hurt in the fire. (UPDATE: Who says prayers don't work miracles?)
