First, thank you for taking the time to view this campaign. While we understand these are trying times, it’s now more than ever the Alonso family needs your help.  We invite you to follow their journey below. The Alonso’s are the most generous and considerate souls, but sadly they are broken and in need your support today for their fur baby, Ginger.  This family would be forever grateful to anyone that is able to donate, or even simply send prayers, to help keep their Ginger happy and healthy.  Everyone is in pain and suffering.

The day before Thanksgiving, the family arrived home and were not greeted at the door by Ginger, which they have enjoyed for the last 6 years.  Tragically, they found Ginger laying down whimpering, unable to move.  Her back legs were paralyzed.  She couldn’t wiggle her behind or wag her tail, which is heartbreaking, as this is her way of showing love and emotion.
The family met with  Dr. Michelle Carnes of Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology (SCAN) and Ginger immediately underwent an MRI to figure out what was happening.  It was determined that Ginger has 60% Intervertebral Disk Herniation of T12 & T13, which is paralyzing half of her back.  Due to the holiday and limited availability, Ginger will undergoing veterinary spinal surgery on Tuesday December 1, 2020 to relieve the compression in her spine!  Ginger has been sedated for days now, to reduce inflammation and pain, as well as keep her calm.  Dr. Carnes is confident that once the surgery is performed, Ginger will make a full recovery. Her recovery will be a long and hard 6 to 12 grueling weeks.  There will be many visit to the specialist in the future.
We guarantee 100% of the funds raised will pay for Ginger’s vet bills, any follow up procedures and medications needed.  We will attach medical bills as they become available.

The Alonso’s have a lot of pride and would never ask for help, so we are asking ourselves and it’s to support Ginger’s life.  Dealing with this injury, the pending surgery, the recovery and on-going prescriptions and follow up visits will be draining emotionally and financially- which is why we are asking for your help.  SCAN estimated $7,000 for the surgery, medications and follow up specialty visits.

Ginger is a SUPER SPECIAL 6 year old pitbull mix.  The Alonso family adopted Ginger from the Collier Humane Society when she was 6 months old. Ginger is a loving, happy go lucky companion, adored by all. She is playful, but cuddly little ball of love. She greets everyone with love and affection.  Ginger doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her broken body.

The Alonso’s are hurting, yet left with no other option but to give Ginger the opportunity to live the rest of her life, sharing her love and healing, which will cripple them financially during these difficult times.  Any small donation, or sharing of this campaign, would be so deeply appreciated.  Hopefully we have captured a little piece of Ginger’s spirit with you.
