Last December we created the World's First Flying Pig Parade in historic downtown Gainesville, Florida. It was spectacular, over-the-top, and, pretty darn good! Two thousand people laughed themselves silly. You can help make it happen again on 12-28-24 by contributing to our fund.

Once again we will be celebrating all that is weird, wild, and wonderful about “Hogtown” (Gainesville’s original name). Once more you'll see us poke fun at all the crazy things we experienced in this year.

Our zany procession is similar to the King Mango Strut, a parade that has generated cascades of laughter in Coconut Grove, Florida, since 1982. Its co-founder, Glenn Terry, moved up to Gainesville a couple of years ago to start an even better parade. He and his porcine pranksters have created North Florida's most unique event. It brings fresh magic to this college town.

Taking over the streets - legally - requires considerable funding. Hard cash is necessary to rent barricades, hire police officers, purchase event insurance, and a dozen other things. We're different, non-commercial, and people-powered. We need your help to make it happen again.

Gainesville legend, Vivian Filer, will serve as Grand Marshall. After the parade, we will honor another amazing Gainesvillian, Bo Diddley, with a concert. The popular local group, "When Gospel Meets Jazz" will perform at 3 p.m. in Bo DIddley Plaza.

It all adds up to an incredibly entertaining afternoon that costs thousands of dollars to produce. Unlike the other parades, our parade is run by volunteers through our 501 (C) (3) non-profit, Flying Pig Productions, Inc.

We have no commercial support. While we are getting some funding from grants, we hope that you, through our GoFundMe campaign, will help us cover the rest.
