Give William a Voice

It’s less than two weeks until Christmas. At this time of year, thoughts turn to family and friends, and goodwill. This time of year is a great time to think of people close to us that we can help.

Our colleague Emma and her husband Andrew have a one year old son, William. He has a genetic disorder called Angelman Syndrome. This is a learning disability which means that he will never be able to speak naturally to his friends and family, something we all take for granted.

With the wonders of new technology, an IT based system has been developed which will enable William to communicate. Obviously, the younger he can get this system the more it will help him develop his communication skills. Unfortunately the cost of the system, including training, is £2,500.

As Emma’s friends and colleagues within EDF Energy, we would love to be able to give William the gift of communication this Christmas. As you know, solidarity is one of our core values at EDF.  With a combined effort from all of us, we can easily raise £2,500 for William. Will you help us? Anything you can contribute will help.
